DevOps / Platform Engineer

Make our infrastructure reliable, scalable, and reproducible — across every client project we run simultaneously.

About Ontwikkelaars

At Ontwikkelaars, production systems run for dozens of clients at once. Reliability isn't a nice-to-have — it's a baseline requirement. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of that: from CI/CD pipelines to Kubernetes clusters to disaster recovery.

The role

As a DevOps/Platform Engineer, you build and maintain the infrastructure all Ontwikkelaars client products run on. You work with Kubernetes, Terraform, and the major cloud providers, and you make sure deployments are fast, secure, and reproducible. You're the person the team looks to when something goes wrong — and the reason that rarely happens.

What you'll do

  • Design and manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Automate infrastructure with Terraform using infrastructure-as-code principles
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
  • Monitor systems and set up alerts, dashboards, and runbooks
  • Secure infrastructure and implement best practices around secrets management

What you bring

  • At least 3 years of experience as a DevOps or Platform Engineer
  • Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
  • Experience with Terraform or Pulumi for infrastructure-as-code
  • Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Bonus: experience with observability tooling (Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)

What we offer

  • Salary: €4,500–€6,500 per month, depending on experience
  • Hardware budget: €1,500 at start
  • Cloud certification budget: fully reimbursed
  • Learning budget: €1,200 per year
  • 25 vacation days and fully remote

How to apply

Send your CV to careers@ontwikkelaars.nl. Describe the infrastructure you've built and maintained — scale, stack, and what you learned from it.
